Independence

Test vehicles and equipment
We buy or rent test vehicles wherever practical. When a manufacturer lends a vehicle, that is disclosed in the article. We do not accept gifts, and travel paid for by a manufacturer is disclosed.
Testing standards
Every measured figure we publish comes with the conditions under which it was recorded. Our method is documented publicly so results can be compared and disputed. Where a test could not be completed properly, we say so instead of estimating.
Sources and accuracy
We name sources wherever possible and link to primary material rather than to coverage of it. Data is dated, because prices, incentives and specifications change.
Corrections
